Rigid Casting
Stonecast is an easy to use two-part urethane casting resin. It's primarily used for the manufacturing of parts with a certain configuration that can be repeated easily and in high volume. It can be painted, stained, sealed, and drilled after production as well as in-mold coated with varying faux finishes. With the lowest rate of thermal expansion in the industry, Stonecast performs excellent in outdoor applications as well as in extreme temperatures.
Unlike most other casting compounds such as polyester resins, Stonecast does not release harmful chemicals during or after processing and is made from over 30% recycled product. Using Stonecast can also help you qualify for the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED Certification under two categories – Material and Resources (use of recycled ingredients) and Indoor Environmental Air Quality (zero Volatile Organic Compound emissions).
